There finally seems to be PC Laptop that can compete in the same design class as the Apple MAC’s. The new HP Envy 13 and 15 line will be marketed as HP’s premium line of laptops. The entire chasis is made up of a aluminium and magnesium bonded material. The metals are anodized several layers deep making the laptop durable, scratch-resistant and lightweight.

The Envy 13 has a 13.3 inch widescreen, capable of producing 1366 by 768 resolution. Very similar to the Macbook 13 inch laptops, though it is slighter thinner at .8 inches and lighter at 3.74 lbs. However, HP have decided to omit the CD/DVD Drive but an external drive is available.

The Envy 15 has a 15 inch widescreen with a 1366 by 768 or 1920 by 1080 screen resolution. It is one inch thicker than the Envy 13 and weighs 5.2 pounds. HP will be provide an USB Blu-ray drive to take advantage of the 1080p resolution.

Inside the chasis houses Intel’s next generation Core i7 processor and supports up to 16GB of memory. The beast is powered by a standard six-cell Lithium Polymer battery, which gives you about 7 hours. Plus you can get an extended battery, which covers the complete base and with that HP claim to extend battery life to 18 hours.

Ever thought about wearing a skateboard around your head. Well not that you ever would but if you did, then we have found someone out there crazy enough to come up with something along those lines.

Parra a Dutch artist has handcrafted headphones made out of Finnish Birch Plywood usinf the same moulding tecnique as skateboards. Apparently, using wood produces better quality sound than plastic, so they say. The headphones are only 1.2mm thick keeping it lightweight and flexible.

The headphones will be coming out soon but Parra has not revealed how much he will be selling them for.

As a kid I always wanted a telescope, not to just spy on the girl next door but to look at other educational stuff like the moon, planets and maybe spot a flying saucer. Well now I can with the Orion SkyQuest XT10 Classic Dobsonian Telescope. The reason for chosing this telescope over many others is because it looks the best and at datscool.com we like anything that looks good but not only that it provides the best mass-produced Newtonian optics as well.

The Orion SkyQuest XT10 is human powered. You move the scope manually – which is faster, quieter, and much less expensive than a motorized system. With only two major components to assemble (tube and base), and a heaviest single component weight of a little under 31 pounds, the scope takes only a few minutes to set up and is easily managed by any reasonably fit individual. Its good optical quality and very reasonable price for such a big telescope make it an excellent buy for the beginning and advanced astronomer alike.

There has been a lot of talk about Nvidia’s Ion platform and now finally a few sites have been able to get there hands on one. PC World recently took delivery of a mini desktop equipped with Nvidia’s Ion platform.

The palm size desktop features a Seagate Momentus 200GB hard drive, 2GB of RAM, and a host of I/O ports, along with a 1.6-GHz Intel Z330 Atom CPU and an nVidia GeForce 9400M graphics processor.

The cool thing about this is that it allows you to play games and watch movies at 1080p. Now if you’re not excited then try using a netbook or a mac mini to watch and play games at HD res, yep its like running todays games on your old 486DX4100 and 14″ VGA monitor.

We are expected to see the first desktops and netbooks equipped with the platform early June and Nvidia has said it will cost about $50 – $100 more to a standard 945GM/E configuration.
