There has been a great outpouring of grief across the world for this great man, Steve Jobs. Dats Cool has been reading the many quotes, watching the many inspirational speeches by Jobs and viewing the many ways in which people have expressed their grief.

Of those, the above tribute stands out in our memories. This street art in New York City shows an image of Jobs in his younger years when viewed from one side, and an image of him that many will remember for years to come. RIP Steve.

The new gameboy!

Sometimes, there are just some moments where you wish you had a better zoom on your iPhone or ability to take that macro shot or wish you could use your wide angle lens without bringing your whole SLR kit. Well, now there’s a way to further your iPhone!

This mount by Photojojo is essentially a case for the phone that allows you to attach either Nikon F-mount or Canon EF-mount lenses. The case is made from a lightweight aluminium and the lenses are slotted in. The iPhone SLR mount also comes with a UV filter and has two strap loops and a tripod attachment.

It will be available mid August 2011 for around US$249.

Remember hanging out at gaming arcade, waiting by the side of machine for your turn to get your name on the top players list? Well, to bring back those memories of our childhood is this cool device.

iCade is an accessory for the iPad. It’s a wireless dock that lets you turn your iPad into an ‘ol skool’ arcade cabinet. You can play to your hearts content and no change required!

We couldn’t go without mentioning the new iPad2. Dats Cool have been admiring the first version but did have some wants and needs with our iPad when the iPhone4 came out. Now it seems our ‘wants’ have been heard!

We love the fact that the iPad2 comes with FaceTime and the second camera. And those Smart Covers look pretty good as well. We didn’t think that it could get any thinner but Apple did it again! We’ll be lining up at the Apple store to get our hands on one of these!

And a massive applause to Mr Jobs for coming out to announce this one! We are hugely impressed with his efforts and put our hands together for him!

Dats Cool is being drawn to transparent items of late such as the transparent tv and now, this transparent mobile phone!

It’s a concept phone and a glimpse at another of Mac Funamizu’s designs. We think it has a really clean and sleek look and certainly looks a lot better than some of the smart phones that are currently available. It will be interesting to see how transparent materials are utilised in the future – perhaps they will even be able to have 3d images from our phones in the future.

Potato, Pot-ah-to…what many were billing as the Playstation Phone was ‘unofficially’ announced in a Superbowl commercial.

Sony Ericsson have taken the unusual step of advertising the device before it’s official announcement which is to take place on February 13th 2011. Their latest device is part of the Xperia suite of products and has the familiarity of Playstation buttons and gaming abilities. Will be interesting to see how this device takes off.

This TV designed by Michael Friebe is a clear, frameless glass surface. When operational, it combines conventional LCD and the latest TOLED display technology to create non-transparent / solid moving pictures. Much better than the black screen that’s currently sitting in our living rooms!

The Artefact design team has come up with what they envisage to be the future of SLR cameras. The concept is to bring together the capabilities of smart phones with SLR-quality optics.

It is a sleek looking design with a body made from aluminum and magnesium alloy. It also has an in-built antenna which allows GPS, Bluetooth and WirelessHD meaning you can share your images instantly if you wish. Dats Cool particularly likes the fact that the lens mount is compatible with the Nikon F mount, Canon EF mount, Micro Four Thirds and Leica M – excellent!
