We have always been impressed with Nike ads and love that they always trying to raise the bar. Again, they have come out with a campaign which motivates us to want to get into the great outdoors.
With a new slogan of just experience it – Nike is revitalised again.
Volkswagen The Force Commercial
Like everyone else, Dats Cool was glued to the small screen to watch the Superbowl yesterday. Amid all the gossip of incorrect lyrics and naked celebrities, we almost forgot that it’s about football! And I’m sure there has been lots of talk around the office water cooler about the commercials which were run during the Superbowl. As they did spend incredible amounts of money to advertise, we thought we would at least share our favourite commercial.
Bringing us back to our own childhood and love of Star Wars, the Volkswagen commercial was the one to catch our attention. Not only did they find a way to grab our attention, feel a sense of nostalgia as well as keep our attention right through to the end of the ad, Volkswagen also effectively told us something about their product! Awesome!
Concept Transparent Phone
Dats Cool is being drawn to transparent items of late such as the transparent tv and now, this transparent mobile phone!
It’s a concept phone and a glimpse at another of Mac Funamizu’s designs. We think it has a really clean and sleek look and certainly looks a lot better than some of the smart phones that are currently available. It will be interesting to see how transparent materials are utilised in the future – perhaps they will even be able to have 3d images from our phones in the future.
Lupe Fiasco Lasers
Now, QR codes are nothing new but the way in which they are being used seems to be evolving.
The innovative people behind Lupe Fiasco have teamed up with Red Laser to use a QR code to promote his upcoming album Lasers. In Union Square New York, a QR code was projected and offered fans a chance to pre-order and get additional bonus content of the album. A fun and innovative way to promote a new album – certainly got Dats Cool’s attention!

Keeping in the spirit of Chinese New Year, Dats Cool found these cute little coin purses by Diana Eng which we hope will bring us good luck and good fortune. Shaped liked fortune cookies, they are made of leather and each have a unique etched number. How cute! A little bit of good fortune to carry our coinage.
